DOUBLE CELEBRATION: HAPPY BIRTHDAY AND FATHER'S DAY, DADDY!
Nick's 33rd Birthday fell on Father's Day this year. (Nick was actually born on Father's Day back in 1979!) It was a double celebration for a very special man.
Seeing Nick as a father has been one of the greatest joys of my life. I always knew he would be an amazing father, but WOW. Such a kind, patient man who is so involved and knows how to be silly. Words cannot express how truly grateful I am that our boys have such a positive male role model in him. I am so proud and honored to be a part of Nick's life. Happy Father's Day and Happy Birthday to an incredible man!
On Father's Day: Trying to get a photo where the twins would look at the camera. HA!
What Makes a Dad
~ Author Unknown
God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle's flight,
The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,
Then God combined these qualities,
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so, He called it ... Dad
We spent the weekend in Iowa with my in-laws. The boys had a blast running around with Grammy and Papa on Saturday. Then on Sunday, while Nick played in a golf tournament with his dad and brothers (a family tradition!), E & W played with their cousins, Max and Owen. And while I sat there watching the kids play, I thought, "Why are the women with the kids on Father's Day while the men are out golfing?" Something just doesn't seem right about that. :) Oh well, in a few years they can take all the boys golfing with them!
Watching Remi the dog outside with cousin, Max. (Max is exactly 4 weeks older than the twins. They look like triplets here!)
Our Grammy is a musician! We love playing her guitars and harmonicas!
Making a rock sculpture at the Nature Center.
Holding hands walking to the playground.

Playing outside. Eli insisted on wearing that helmet at all times. One may think he is just being cautious. But actually it's because he's quite the little fashionista! :)
Working hard on coloring Father's Day cards for their uncles and grandpas!

Too cute! Now I just need to see fighting photos!
ReplyDeleteThis week Arielle had taken something from Josiah. He screamed. She laughed. He grabbed at whatever it was that he wanted. She caught his arm and held it in place to take a big bite. He recoiled. More screaming. Then he yanked her pony tail until she fell down, dropped his toy and he grabbed it and dashed away to the opposite side of the room.
Of course I was watching it all, curious to see how it would play out.
Apparently we need to send them to conflict resolution training.
